What does a Consulting Producer do?
The Consulting Producer is usually a former executive or
co-producer that no longer or do not work on a particular show. They often
assist writers and producers regarding specific areas of concern that is likely
to coincide with their experience. Being a Consulting Producer is usually
having a specialization. Specializing in working with a particular location,
historical content, and the creative aspects of a show.
Consulting Producers are often upper-levels who work on a TV
show in some part-time capacity, usually coming in only 2-3 days a week, or
only for punch-ups, or to help the staff brainstorm jokes on shoot nights, etc.
Many consulting producers you see listed on a film or TV
